The National Strategy for Active Employment Policies is in public consultation

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is putting the National Strategy for Active Employment Policies (EPA) in an open, public consultation from today, July 13, inviting everyone interested to participate, submitting proposals for any improvement of its provisions.

The purpose of the National Strategy for Active Employment Policies posted on the opengov.gr website (http://www.opengov.gr/minlab/?p=5710), is to constitute a holistic strategic framework for the development and implementation in Greece of active employment policies for the period 2022-2030, combined with passive labor market policies. It is fully aligned with the principles of the European Pillar of Social Rights and the new Porto Declaration, as well as with the primary goals set at pan-European level for 2030 in the areas of employment, skills and social protection, which are linked and with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The objectives of the National Strategy are:

– strengthening employment and tackling unemployment,

– strengthening the qualifications, skills and employability of the workforce,

– strengthening the readiness and adaptability of the labor market and workforce for a rapidly changing social and economic environment, as well as

– the wider improvement of labor market and employment data.

The National Strategy for Active Employment Policies is structured in 4 strategic axes:

Strategic Axis 1: Strengthening employment and tackling unemployment and long-term unemployment.

Strategic Axis 2: Strengthening youth employment and facilitating the access of young people to the labor market.

Strategic Axis 3: Developing the country’s workforce and enhancing its employability.

Strategic Axis 4: Inclusive Labor Market.

It is noted that the National Strategy was developed under the coordination of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in collaboration with DYPA and with the help of the Athens University of Economics. The measures and programs that will be implemented within the framework of the Strategy are financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, the NSRF 2021-2027 and national resources.

The National Strategy for Active Employment Policies will remain posted and open until July 28, 2022 at 12:00, in order for every public body, social partner, body at national, regional and local level and every interested party to participate, submitting comments and proposals .
