The Netherlands will reopen its embassy in Kyiv today, the Dutch Foreign Ministry announced.
The country withdrew its diplomatic staff from Ukraine two days after the February 24 invasion by Russian troops. Last week, the Netherlands reopened its embassy in Lviv, western Ukraine.
“A small group of the embassy there (in Kyiv) will work closely with the Ukrainian authorities and other returning partner countries,” Dutch Foreign Minister Vopke Hexstra said in a Twitter message. “It is important that we provide support on the ground in Ukraine,” he added.
The embassy in Kyiv will not yet be accessible for consular assistance.
Other European countries, including France, recently announced they were moving their embassies back to Kyiv.
