The Netherlands will send “heavier material” to Ukraine, “including armored vehicles,” Prime Minister Mark Rutte said on Tuesday.
In a Twitter post, Rutte said he and Dutch Defense Minister Kalsa Olongren had voiced their support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a telephone conversation, “as Russia launches a new offensive.”
“Together with the allies, we are considering the delivery of additional, heavier equipment,” Rutte wrote in his post.
📞: In a call with @ZelenskyyUa the @DefensieMin and I expressed our support as Russia begins a renewed offensive. 🇳🇱 will be sending heavier material to 🇺🇦, including armored vehicles. Along with allies, we are looking into supplying additional heavy material.

For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also wrote on Twitter, following the telephone call, that he had informed Rutte “about the deteriorating situation in Donbas” and that he was “grateful” for his support.
“Once peace is restored, we will build Ukraine-Netherlands relations on new common ground in the EU!” Zelensky wrote.
Continued dialogue with 🇳🇱 PM Mark Rutte @MinPres. Informed about the aggravation of the situation in Donbas. Ukrainians are doing everything to stop the aggressor. Grateful for supporting 🇺🇦. When peace is restored we’ll build 🇺🇦-🇳🇱 relations of a new quality together in the EU!
