The new Nissan X-Trail debuted in Europe with only three-cylinder engines

Nissan has officially unveiled the fourth generation X-Trail in Europe. Two years ago, the crossover debuted in the US market under the name Rogue, after which it appeared in China and Japan. If outwardly the cars for all markets were the same, then they differed in power units. European consumers have stopped supplying X-Trail with diesels and large-capacity gasoline engines before, and now they offer a novelty only with three-cylinder units.

According to the Autoreview publication, the basic version has a 1.5 VC-Turbo engine with a variable compression ratio and a maximum power of 163 hp. (torque 305 Nm). In addition, there is a 12-volt starter-alternator, so to some extent this X-Trail can be called a hybrid. The configuration also includes an Xtronic CVT and front-wheel drive. The car accelerates to “hundreds” in 9.6 s. The new X-Trail is built on the same platform as its predecessor (CMF-C/D). In length and width, the crossover has become larger by 21 and 20 mm, respectively. Buyers will be able to choose wheels with a diameter of 18 or 19 inches. There is even a seven-seat version, in which the third row is designed for passengers up to 160 cm tall.

Nissan is relying more on the X-Trail e-Power model, a series hybrid that is powered by electric traction, with a 1.5 VC-Turbo engine acting as a generator. It charges the traction battery, working in the most optimal modes. The company already had experience with such a power plant in Europe using the new Qashqai as an example. The basic version of the X-Trail e-Power is equipped with a 204 hp electric motor. (330 Nm) and offers only front-wheel drive. The car does not have a gearbox, it has an e-Pedal driving mode. As an option, the e-4orce all-wheel drive system is offered, which is provided by installing an additional electric motor on the rear axle with a return of 128 hp. and 195 Nm. The peak power of the system does not exceed 213 hp.

The hybrid version with front-wheel drive accelerates to 100 km / h in 8 seconds, and with all-wheel drive in 7-7.2 seconds. The maximum speed is limited to 170 and 180 km / h, the average fuel consumption is 5.8 and 6.4 liters, respectively. The petrol X-Trail consumes a minimum of 7.1 liters per 100 km. The new Nissan X-Trail in Europe costs from 35,500 euros (about 2,150,000 rubles), the hybrid version – from 37,000 euros (about 2,240,000 rubles). Deliveries to Russia have been suspended, but there will certainly be fans of the brand who will bring a crossover for themselves.
