The new Vodafone accessory dedicated to cyclists

Europeans love to travel by bicycle and even Italians have shown that they are interested in two wheels: in fact, during 2020, they were sold over 2 million bikes – source Confindustria Ancma – and there has been a significant increase in those who have decided to get on the saddle. However, there are some fears and on the subject it is a Vodafone survey, carried out on consumers and conducted by 3GEM, confirming that 4 out of 10 Italians are worried by the conditions of poor street lighting, others are afraid of being overwhelmed or involved in accidents without being noticed by others and, a good part – 43% – believe that the bicycle is a vehicle very vulnerable to theft.

In this regard, to meet these needs, Vodafone announced the market debut of Curve Bike light & GPS tracker: a portable device designed for cyclists and which becomes part of the Consumer IoT Smart Tech series “Designed & Connected by Vodafone». Small and easy to use, the new accessory unveiled by the telephone operator attaches to the seat post and offers itself as a solution all-in-one pointing to the safety, visibility e connectivity.

In fact, it mounts a smart taillight which signals braking and a impact detector able to automatically send a notification – via push notification, SMS or call – to your favorite contacts in case of a fall. The built-in GPS tracker also allows the user to locate the bicycle when not nearby and to store each ride in the dedicated app, recording duration and distance.

Already available for purchase, Curve Bike light & GPS tracker is sold at 139 euro and obviously, to ensure continuous connectivity to the network, it incorporates a Vodafone SIM card with an internet plan included for the first six months: subsequently it will be necessary to incur a monthly expense equal to 2,99 euro.
