Polish company CD Projekt, known for the series of games “The Witcher” (The Witcher) and the cyberpunk RPG Cyberpunk 2077, announced an ambitious new project and announced the purchase of The Molasses Flood studio.
The Molasses Flood was formed in Boston in 2014 by industry veterans who helped create Halo, Bioshock, Guitar Hero and Rock Band. In 2017, The Molasses Flood released the post-apocalyptic game The Flame in the Flood, followed by a base building and survival game Drake Hollow in 2020.

Molasses Flood will work with CD Projekt, but will not merge with the existing development team. Details are not disclosed today, but it is known that the new studio will work on a new “ambitious project” based on the existing intellectual property of CD Projekt. This almost certainly means a game set in the universes of The Witcher or Cyberpunk 2077.
