The New York Times is calling for Biden to withdraw from the presidential race

The New York Times editorial board on Friday called on President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race against Donald Trump, citing the Democrat’s poor performance in the previous night’s debate. “Mr. Biden has been a wonderful president. Under his leadership, the nation flourished and began to face a range of long-term challenges, while the wounds opened by Mr. Trump began to heal. But the greatest service to the nation that Mr. Biden can do now is to announce that he will not continue to seek re-election,” the paper wrote in its editorial uploaded to its digital edition Friday night. “The president appeared on Thursday night like the shadow of a great public official.
