The next Xiaomi will receive a screen with support for 1 Hz (usually 60 Hz). Why is this needed

On December 28, the long-awaited flagship Xiaomi 12 and its Pro version will premiere. And on the eve of the announcement, Xiaomi began to reveal its cards to whet the public’s interest in new products. In particular, she declassified the characteristics of the display of the Xiaomi 12 Pro, one of the chips of which will be the adaptive refresh rate of the screen.

Xiaomi announced on social networks that the Pro version of the future flagship will receive an AMOLED display made using the second generation LTPO technology. This will allow for a dynamic display refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz, enhancing the user experience while reducing power consumption. The system will automatically change the screen refresh rate based on the situation. For example, for games, the smartphone activates the maximum frame rate, and 10 Hz will be enough to view static text or images. This will have a positive effect on the autonomy of the smartphone compared to smartphones with a static display refresh rate.

The manufacturer notes that the Xiaomi 12 Pro will receive one of the most advanced technologies on the market. We are talking about smoothly changing the refresh rate of the screen depending on the speed of sliding your finger across the screen, for example, when scrolling through pages. When the user continuously swipes the finger across the display, the refresh rate will synchronize with the sliding speed. A similar adaptive screen refresh rate technology has already been implemented in the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, announced in September.
