The total number of addresses on the Cardano network has surpassed 3 million, up 500,000 in less than a month and a half.
According to the Cardano Blockchain Insights portal, at the time of publication, the number of wallets in the Cardano network reached 3,002,727. As early as December 24, 2021, this figure was 2.5 million, that is, in less than a month and a half, the number of wallets increased by 500,000. At the same time, at the end 2020, the figure did not exceed 200,000 addresses.
Interestingly, the number of transactions in the Cardano network has slightly decreased in recent days. If on January 24-25 the indicator reached almost 200,000 transactions per day, then on February 3, the Cardano blockchain processed only 126,000 transactions.
In September, Cardano developers, together with the Alonzo hard fork, launched support for smart contracts on the main network of the project. This gave a significant push to increase the number of users and transactions, and block completion on the network reached 94% in January of this year. At the same time, the number of smart contracts in the Cardano blockchain as of January 27 amounted to 1,000 units and continues to increase.
