The Obama family mourns the death of their beloved dog Bo

Since 2009, when he was adopted by the Obama family, the dog Bo was a constant and comforting presence for the Obama family, starting the White House adventure with them. As anyone who lives with an animal will understand, the pain of Barack and Michelle Obama (and their two daughters Malia and Natasha) for the death of the dog Bo, killed by a tumor, is a lot.

To remember with affection the years spent together with Bo, a large dog of the Portuguese breed Cao de Agua, is the former US President, with a long and moving post published on Instagram: “Today our family has lost a great friend and faithful companion. For over a decade, Bo has been a constant and sweet presence in our lives, happy to be with us on good days, bad days and at all times. He always endured the comings and goings of when we lived in the White House, he barked loudly but never bit, he loved throwing himself into the pool in the summer, he was very calm with the children, he loved to recover leftover food from the table and had a fantastic hair. It was exactly what we needed and exceeded our every expectation. We will miss him very much ».

Also Michelle Obama dedicated a long Instagram post to the late Bo, telling how his presence has been helpful for every single member of the family and how happy the big dog was to spend the lockdown in close coexistence. “We had no idea what it would have meant to us Bo,” writes the former First Lady. Inviting his followers to cuddle furry friends at home and give them all the love they can.
