The Offspring’s car catches fire in Canada; no one was hurt

The car that transported part of the band’s team The Offspring caught fire on Friday (5), in Canada. The group released a statement on social media on Saturday that everyone is doing well.

The scare occurred after the band’s performance in the city of Sherbrooke, Quebec.

“While traveling across Canada yesterday, something flew out of the vehicle in front of us and got stuck under one of our SUVs and caught fire,” they wrote.

“Everyone got out safely, but luggage, passports, laptops and pretty much everything else was destroyed,” they continued.

Guitarist Kevin Noodles shared the incident on his personal Instagram account.

“It could have been a lot worse. The band and I are so grateful and relieved that everyone involved is okay,” she wrote.

He also stated that “no one is sure what may have caused the fire, but the SUV hit something large and heavy, possibly a lost towbar, and within seconds the vehicle was on fire,” he said.

On Twitter, the band shared the moment the flames spread through the car:

“We are happy to report that everyone is safe and we have arrived safely in Rimouski and will be performing tonight at Les Grandes Fetes TELUS. Hope to see you all there!” they said.

The Offspring will play the third show in Canada next Saturday (13), in Vancouver. Then the tour goes to Japan, where the band performs on August 20th and 21st.
