The online platform for child benefit has opened

According to an announcement by OPECA, from today July 29, at 08:00, the A21-Child Benefit platform is open, so that the beneficiaries can submit their applications digitally and their processing can begin.

Beneficiaries can submit the application via the idika.gr or opeka.gr website using their personal TAXISnet passwords.

The amount to which each citizen is entitled is calculated on the basis of the dependent children declared in the A21 of 2022 and the total family income for the tax year 2021.

“The electronic application submission platform A21 allows, through extensive electronic cross-checks with available databases of other entities and services, to check the accuracy and correctness of the declared data and information during the application submission stage”, OPECA states in a relevant Press Release.

For the allowance to be granted, it is important for the user to make sure that he has finalized the submission of the application and of course that the application is approved. If the application has been temporarily stored, without its final submission, which is the final step on the digital platform, it is considered not submitted, it is not taken into account and the beneficiary does not receive the corresponding allowance.

OPECA – Four useful questions and answers for the application

With the aim of facilitating citizens in the process of completing and submitting the application, OPECA highlights four useful questions with their answers:

“1. In the pre-filled A21 application my child appears without a name (female or male) and the platform does not allow me to add the name. What should I do?

In case the child’s name is already registered in the AMKA, you must cancel the A21 application and submit a definitive new one. If the child still appears without a name even after canceling the application, you must go to the KEP and declare your child’s name to AMKA. Then cancel the A21 application again and submit definitive new ones.

2. Protected members are not recognized, because the surnames of the children are not identified with their AMKA. What should I do;

Please note that when a child is added, only the child’s surname (not his first name) and his AMKA are registered. If the identification problem persists, the beneficiaries must check the full details of the dependent child in the AMKA electronic application www.amka.gr or contact a KEP to correct any errors in the AMKA electronic register. The last name next to the AMKA has probably been written in a different way on the platform, compared to how it is entered in the AMKA registry. Afterwards, the A21 application must be canceled and a new application submitted definitively, so that the corrected data can be retrieved from the AMKA register.

3. The application asks for a child’s TIN, while it does not let me enter it and refers me to KEP. What should I do;

For children born in 2004 and after, the TIN is not required. For children born before 2003, the TIN is mandatory. If this TIN has not been registered in the AMKA register, then citizens are referred to KEP to update the AMKA register with the corresponding TIN, as the AMKA register cannot be updated through the A21 application. Afterwards, the saved A21 application must be canceled and a new one definitively submitted, so that the corrected data can be retrieved from the AMKA register. In the event that you know that the child’s tax identification number has already been registered with AMKA, simply cancel the A21 application and submit a definitive new one.

4. While my child’s TIN has been registered as of today in the register of the AMKA, the application cannot even be submitted and is listed in the system as a flag. Should I do something else?

The notification of AMKA with the VAT number is immediate. Cancel the application and definitively submit a new one, so that the VAT number can be drawn again from your child’s AMKA”.
