Local police say that a local 42-year-old man, who supplies computers and food to schools, was injured. Some time ago, a businessman launched his own mining hotel, where he housed clients’ equipment, provided communications, cooling and security.
The security turned out to be not very reliable – the mining hotel was attacked twice. For the first time, the attackers managed to steal equipment worth 2 million rubles. The police were never able to identify and apprehend the thieves. The next time, the burglars prepared even more thoroughly – by turning off the alarm and security cameras, they took out all the remaining mining devices. The total damage from the two incidents amounted to 22 million rubles.
“An inspection is being carried out, the issue of initiating a criminal case for theft under Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation is being decided,” law enforcement officers say.
In April, police in the Irkutsk region managed to discover and liquidate an underground mining hotel with 200 devices.
