The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus put Vladislav Kuchinsky, the owner of the Bitok.me cryptocurrency exchange, on the wanted list. He is accused of tax evasion in the amount of 9 million Belarusians. rubles.

According to investigators, in two years, Kuchinsky and two of his accomplices, all natives of the city of Lida, carried out more than 8,000 cryptocurrency exchange operations in the amount of $29 million. At the same time, the activity of the exchanger was illegal, and the organizers did not pay taxes.

“When committing the crime, the defendants used online anonymization tools, SIM cards registered to fake persons and accounts on foreign crypto platforms. This allowed them to not attract the attention of law enforcement officers for a long time and remain in the shadows, ”the statement of the Investigative Committee emphasizes.

Earlier, law enforcement agencies conducted several searches, during which equipment and information carriers were seized to prove the involvement of the accused. In addition, the police seized more than $280,000, as well as arrested accounts in Belarus and Georgia, which held about 2 million Belarusian rubles. rubles.

It is interesting that the exchanger continued to work even after the start of the criminal prosecution of the organizers. Kuchinsky tried to oppose the investigation – withdrew funds from controlled accounts and sent letters to clients asking them to ignore calls to the police.

A criminal case was initiated against Kuchinsky under Article 243, Part 3 (tax evasion on an especially large scale), he was put on the international wanted list. Two accomplices are charged under part 6 of article 16, part 3 of article 243 (assistance in tax evasion on an especially large scale).

Recall that earlier a resident of the state of North Carolina, Jayton Gill, pleaded guilty to conducting an unlicensed activity of exchanging cash for BTC and XRM, as well as tax evasion.
