The Path of the Parks, the path that crosses all of Italy

From the Gulf of Trieste through the entire Alpine arc up to Valle d’Aosta and to Liguria, then down along the Apennines to the Calabria, without forgetting the islands: the Path of the Parks embraces all 25 Italian national parks on a unique journey to discover the naturalistic wonders of the Bel Paese. A sort of Camino de Santiago in an Italian sauce, where the undisputed protagonist is, however, the Italian nature.

The result of an agreement between the Ministry of the Environment and the Italian Alpine Club (CAI), the Path of the Parks was born with theobjective of enhancing the Italian protected areas, allow those who live there to create sustainable economic chains linked to hospitality and typical products and, finally, realize an eco-sustainable path which, in fact, will involve all the national parks of Italy.

The basis of the new route is the Sentiero Italia Cai, an already active high altitude trail that develops in 400 stages.

Those who walk along it will be assigned a passport to be stamped at the entrance of each of the national parks, a symbolic recognition for hikers who will cross the territory of each park with a prize for those who manage to stop in all 25 national parks. Give her Dolomiti to Maddalena, passing through the Casentinesi Forests and the Pollino, all along the boot: browse the gallery in alto to take a virtual journey among ten parks, biosphere reserves and UNESCO naturalistic sites of Italy and discover their history, their characteristics and which animals live within their borders.
