Germany will consider what other weapons systems it can send to Ukraine to counter Russian attacks next the US decision to send Patriot air defense systemthe head of German diplomacy, Annalena Burbock, said yesterday Thursday.
“After the Patriot delivery, we will look at what we can procure additionally, as we know these air defense systems save lives,” Ms Burbok said.
Germany has sent to Ukraine an array of the Iris-T air defense system, capable of protecting a city.
The German armed forces also have Patriot arrays, which the German government recently offered to Poland, along with their German crews, according to the German Agency and the Athens News Agency. But Berlin rejected Warsaw’s proposal to deploy on Ukrainian territory, on the grounds that German troops could not be deployed there. Ukraine and that it would take months of intensive training for Ukrainian military personnel to use them.
