The perfect garment: the clip of the new film with Javier Bardem in preview

Everything can be said to Javier Bardem except he’s not a quick-change guy, and his latest film, The perfect garment, who will represent Spain at the Oscars, is the confirmation. The film, to be released in cinemas on 23 December with Bim Distribuzione and candidate for the beauty of 20 Goya awards, the equivalent of our David di Donatello, follows the story of Blanco, owner of a historic Spanish company of industrial scales, loved and respected by employees for his great humanity.

Considered by everyone and by himself as a magnanimous leader, Blanco, played by Bardem himself, he is willing to do anything to solve his employees’ problems so that they do not reduce productivity and allow them to win a coveted recognition of local excellence. As the tension over the award commission’s inspection visit mounts, however, Blanco will begin to rack up a series of mistakes and disasters that will lead him to have to prove that he really is a perfect boss.

Directed by Fernando Leon de Aranoa, already behind the success of Perfect Day and of Escobar – The charm of evil, always with Bardem as the protagonist, Ithe perfect garment it is the right synthesis of a charismatic man who tries not to disappoint not only the expectations of those around him, but also his own. A character to whom we can feel close despite his unscrupulous nature, the accurate portrait of who we are or who we fear to become.
