The series based on the cult game The Last of Us was approved by HBO last year, and later it became known that the director will be Johan Renck, known for his work on the acclaimed TV series Chernobyl.
However, yesterday it became known that Renk left the project due to the workload of other tasks, and his chair, at least for the pilot episode, was taken by the Russian director Kantemir Balagov.
This is a young director who has already become famous all over the world with the films “Tightness” and “Dylda”. The latter was nominated by Russia for an Oscar and was recognized by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association as the best film of 2020 in a foreign language.
I write with shaking hands. Dreams Come True. I am a big fan of The Last Of Us and I will never forget how this game opened something new in me, showed something that I had not seen in myself before. Until recently, I did not believe that this would be possible. Dream, family!
The series has no release date yet.
