The LineageOS team, one of the most popular unofficial firmware for Android smartphones, has ended support for Android version 9 Pie.

The project has been offering Android 9 Pie-based LineageOS builds since early 2019, and now many devices have been updated to LineageOS 17.1 (Android 10).
From now on, firmware for LineageOS 16.0 devices based on Android 9 Pie will not be developed. This means that such smartphones and tablets can no longer be upgraded to LineageOS 17.1 (Android 10), nor will they be able to receive other updates, including security updates.
