The president of Argentina is positive about the coronavirus

Its president Argentina Alberto Fernandez, who has been vaccinated against Covid-19, announced yesterday, Friday, that he is positive for the coronavirus, as shown by an antigen test.

“At the end of today (Friday), after I had a fever of 37.3 and a slight headache, I had an antigen test, which was positive,” Fernandez said on his Twitter account.

He added that he is waiting for the result of a PCR test that will confirm whether he is infected or not.

The president, who turned 62 yesterday, Friday, is in precautionary isolation under the Covid-19 protocols, but is still working and said he is “in good physical condition”.

“Although I wish my birthday had passed without this news, my morale is good,” Fernandez added.

The president of Argentina has made two doses of the Sputnik V vaccine of the Russian laboratory Gamaleya, the first on January 21 and the second on February 11, sources in the presidency informed the French Agency.

Argentina is currently facing a second wave of the coronavirus epidemic. According to official figures, this country of 44 million people has recorded more than 2.3 million cases of infection and 56,023 deaths associated with Covid-19.
