Reuven Rivlin will be the first high-ranking Israeli official to meet with the US president after his arrival at the White House.
The invitation was sent by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during a meeting with Rivlin in Jerusalem as part of a Middle East tour.
The Israeli president “accepted the invitation” and “will be happy” to travel to Washington before the end of his term on July 5, Rivlin’s office said in a statement, according to the Athens News Agency.
