Its prime minister SlovakiaRobert Fitzo, reported Saturday that “Ukraine is not an independent and sovereign country”but “is under the full control and influence of the US”repeating that Bratislava he does not intend to send her weapons.

Mr Fitzo is expected to meet his Ukrainian counterpart Denis Smyhal on Wednesday in a town on the border between the two countries.
“I will tell him that I am against the admission of Ukraine to NATO and I will exercise my veto. That would trigger world war three, nothing else.”the Slovak prime minister told public broadcaster RTVS.
He added that he means to confirm at the meeting with Mr. Smichal that Kiev “will not receive weapons from the Slovak army and state”.
He also blamed her Ukraine how it is among the most corrupt countries in the world: “Sir, look how much of the aid it receives disappears,” he said.
In his view, Ukraine's armed conflict with Russia, which is about to complete two years, is impossible to resolve by military means and Kiev will need to cede parts of Ukrainian territory: “There should be a compromise of some kind, which it will be very painful for both sides,” he explained.
“What are they waiting for? How will the Russians leave? This is not realistic”he insisted.
According to a report released in 2023 by the Bratislava-based GlobSec research institute, less than half of Slovaks (40%) consider Russia responsible for the war in Ukraine.
