Its prime minister Thailand, Prayut Chan-o-cha, became the first person in this Southeast Asian country to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine for the new coronavirus, after the decision to postpone the start of its use last week, due to concerns about possible side effects of the product.
Prayut and other members of his government were scheduled to be vaccinated on Friday, but Bangkok announced that day that it was temporarily suspending the AstraZeneca vaccine because of cases of thrombosis which forced the authorities, especially in European countries, to postpone its administration.
The Thai Ministry of Health announced yesterday, as reported by AMPE, that the use of the vaccine of the British-Swedish pharmacy will continue, as several countries assure that no thrombosis has been diagnosed in patients after its administration.
