The private military company replacing Wagner

THE private military company Redut recruits mercenaries, including former private fighters mercenary organization WagnerBritish military intelligence reports, cited by the BBC’s Russian service.

According to their information, the control and financing of the activity of the organization in question has been undertaken by Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of Russia.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion the Redut organization participated in hostilities in the regions Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kiev and Lugansk. The company employs more than 7,000 people.

Currently the Redut organization is one of several private military companies and volunteer corps used by the Ministry of Defense to meet the needs of the Russian regular forces.

In the British military intelligence report, it is said that it is entirely possible that the practice of creating “volunteer” units helped Russia avoid new waves of conscription, which is unpopular in the world.

Last week investigative journalists from the websites Shemi and Sistema published a major investigation into the secret recruitment of Russians for the needs of the war.
