The Ruselectronics holding, which is part of Rostec, received a loan in the amount of 558 million rubles to increase the production of smart electricity metering devices based on Russian parts and running on domestic software. Especially for this, a new assembly line will be launched, which will produce 250 thousand meters per year. She, in turn, will create more than a hundred new jobs.
“In connection with the massive transition to smart metering devices for electricity, we are seeing a steady growth in demand for these products. Therefore, it was decided to expand production capacities and increase the production of smart meters. Thanks to the support of the FRP, our company will be able to launch a new assembly line in the first quarter of 2022 and promptly respond to market requests, providing consumers with reliable domestically produced devices, ”said Andrei Chendarov, Deputy General Director for Technological Development of the United Instrument Making Corporation.
Smart meters automatically monitor and transmit data to the operator, and from the side of ordinary people they allow them to get rid of the level of energy consumed and pay for services through smartphones.
For the first time in Russia, the production of modern smart meters was launched in 2020 at the research and production enterprise “Istok” – it was this enterprise that received this time a loan to expand production.
