The “professional” escape of a prisoner from the prisons of Cyprus – How he managed to escape

Savva, who is accused of cases of burglary and theft, due to lack of space in the Central Prisons of the country, was held in police facilities.

Despite the fact that Lakatamia police detention centers are considered one of the best guarded areas of the Police, without being noticed, he was able to escape without being noticed, reports the Alpha News.

How did he escape?

Savva managed to escape initially stripping one metal support from specially formulated cell for disabled reservation. This cell is only used when it is necessary to hold people with mobility difficulties. Savva, after removing the metal support, carried it to his cell, without being noticed by the police, who carry out checks every half hour but there is also a check with cameras. Then, for days, he carved the wall around the window of his cell, which is made of glass blocks, with the metal object. Despite the noise from the “works” he was not noticed by the authorities again. He was also able to remove the glass-brick frame and get out of his cell, as in outside side there were no irons.

He jumped from a height of about four meters and was found in the outer area of ​​the detention centers which is surrounded by a high wall with barbed wire. Using a truck parked next to the wall, he climbed up and jumped out of the police holding area and disappeared.

According to the Cypriot media, the 28-year-old is considered likely to have escaped to possessionsas all the investigations carried out so far have not led to his arrest.
