Samsung’s next-generation flagship, the Galaxy S22, is expected to launch in the first quarter of next year. However, leaks of information about its characteristics have been appearing over the past few weeks.
According to the latest information, the Samsung Galaxy S22 will receive a triple camera on the back. The main image sensor will have a resolution of 50 megapixels, an additional 12 megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens and a 12 megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens will be installed, which will provide 3x optical zoom.

This completely contradicts previous rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S22 should be the first smartphone in the world to be equipped with a main image sensor with a resolution of 200 megapixels. It was also reported that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will additionally be equipped with a periscope-only camera with a telephoto lens to enhance its long-distance shooting capabilities.
The same informant previously stated that only the most expensive Galaxy S22 Ultra will receive a glass back, while the more affordable Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus will have to be content with “reinforced polycarbonate”.
At this stage, such information should be treated with caution, because Samsung itself might not have made a final decision yet.
