A congratulatory letter was sent by Queen Elizabeth in Kim Jong Un on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic Korea.
The news was confirmed by his Palace Buckingham on CNN, clarifying that it is something “has happened again in the past”, as it happens with other national anniversaries in the world. “The message was sent on behalf of the Queen by the Office of Commonwealth and Development of the United Kingdom (FCDO) as in previous years. This is a common practice for national holidays around the world. “Her Majesty, in all her contacts with the Heads of State and Government, acts on the advice of the FCDO,” the Palace said in a statement.
The celebrations for the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea took place this year on Thursday, September 9th. As part of the celebrations, a night military parade was held in Pyongyang while Kim Jong Un appeared cheerful and greeted the people but did not speak.
North Korean media reported Queen Elizabeth’s message on Monday, saying “Kim Jong Un received a congratulatory message from Queen Elizabeth on September 7.” According to KCNA, the message read: “As the people of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea celebrate their National Day, I send my warmest wishes for the future.”
