Over 1.2 million people have returned to Afghanistan from Iran since the beginning of 2025, according to UNHCR UNHCR data (UNHCR), with the number of repatriation increasing after 12 days between Iran and Israel. Nearly 450,000 Afghans abandoned Iran to return to their country since early June, the World Migration Organization (IOM) announced yesterday, a day after Tehran’s deadline for leaving the country of Afghan who do not have the necessary documents.
