The number of registered unemployed and the total number of subsidized unemployed fell in April from the previous month, as shown by the data announced today by the Public Employment Service.
In particular, the total number of registered unemployed decreased by 8.6%, while the total number of subsidized unemployed decreased by 9.1%.
The data show a large drop in the number of unemployed since April 2021, with the total number of registered persons falling by 9.2% and the total number of subsidized persons falling by almost 32%.
In detail, as announced by the Service:
1. The total number of registered unemployed, with the criterion of job search (job seekers), for the month of April 2022, amounted to 990,820 people. Of these, 546,225 (percentage 55.13%) are registered in the register of D.YPA for a period equal to or more than 12 months and 444,595 (percentage 44.87%) are registered in the register of D.YPA. for a period of less than 12 months. Men amount to 350,612 (percentage 35.39%) and women amount to 640,208 (percentage 64.61%).
2. The total of the registered others (non-job seekers), for the month of April 2022, amounted to 7,502 people. Men amount to 2,799 (percentage 37.31%) and women to 4,703 (percentage 62.69%).
3. The total of the subsidized unemployed, for the month of April 2022, (concerns the number of beneficiaries paid within the respective month) amounts to 148,065 persons, of which 116,677 (percentage 78.80%) are common and other categories of subsidized and 31,388 (percentage 21, 20%) are seasonal tourism professions. Men amount to 67,253 (percentage 45.42%) and women to 80,812 (percentage 54.58%).
Of the total subsidized unemployed 109,265 (percentage 73.80%) are common, 3,170 (percentage 2.14%) are builders, 31,388 (percentage 21.20%) are seasonal tourism professions, 3,676 (percentage 2.48%) are seasonal others (rural), 453 (percentage 0.31%) are teachers, and 113 (0.08%) are others.
