The nearly 200 countries participating in Expo Dubai 2020 took everything that best represents each place within the theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”.
For those who stroll along the avenues, the colors of Russia, the huge Korean walkway and the architectural works are an invitation to enter the pavilions and discover what each one has to offer.
While some huge pavilions display their countries on the avenues of Expo Dubai, others are hidden in alleys and have a much smaller structure.
The content of Guinea-Bissau brings, for example, wants to attract tourists and investors in the area of health, education and infrastructure.
The pavilions are proportional to the countries’ investments, not the size of their territory.
Luxembourg, a country in Europe with 640 thousand inhabitants, made a stylized pavilion. Estonia, also in Europe, with 1.3 million inhabitants, kept the surprise inside. There, there are several blue lights that blink to the music. The country’s intention is to talk about innovation, the future and technology and, of course, attract business to the country.
At one end of the exhibition, Latin America appears in weight: Uruguay, Argentina and Panama share the same space, just as they share the continent. While, in the Uruguay pavilion, the experience is much more interactive, in Argentina, it is necessary to remain silent to immerse yourself in the country’s culture that brings innovation, opportunity and a lot of tango.
Culture also came in other baggage and, sometimes, technology is not all you want to show off. The Mongolian pavilion, for example, which has already received around 45,000 people since the start of Expo Dubai, is in the exhibition in partnership with the national museum and has taken around 100 pieces from the museum to be exhibited in the pavilion.
Stamping your passport at the Expo is making this dive. For visitors, the experience is not just about seeing architecture and technology.
