The right age to have a child? 28 lei and 30 him, according to the British

How old should you be to become a mother? And how many dads? Taking a cue from the reactions to the announcement of the pregnancy of Naomi Campbell, who became a mother for the first time on May 18 of this year, exactly 4 days before turning 51, and wanting to gather opinions on the ideal age to give birth to a child , the global YouGov community launched a survey in the UK from which data emerged that sparked the discussion.

Based on what the 2.

005 participants, the ideal age to become a mother would in fact be 28; 30, on the other hand, the one for fathers. However, what caused an uproar was the finding that about half of the participating men (46%) consider a woman over 36 years old “too old” for a pregnancy, despite only one in five having the same opinion about a man who becomes a father at that age and despite the majority of women (57%) still consider it a good age range to procreate.

Although the number of women having children after age 45 in England and Wales has almost halved over the past decade, YouGov data shows that the public, and especially men, remain skeptical of older parents and especially older mothers.

There is no difference of opinion between men and women, but the views of Britons aged 25 to 44 on the ideal age are slightly higher (at 30), while those aged 55 and over say women should have their first child at 25.

There is instead less debate about when men should become fathers: 30 is the ideal age for Brits. This view is consistent across almost all ages, although the average for Britons over the age of 55 is slightly lower (29).

But when are you too young or too old to become a parent? Nearly eight in ten Britons (81%), regardless of gender, would consider too old women who have a child between 46 and 50 years old. Only a small minority of 9-10% of men and women say it would be the “right” time.

Both genders eventually revealed themselves more likely to approve female motherhood between the ages of 26 and 30 (89% of men and 92% of women) and that men become fathers between the ages of 31 and 35 (89% e 93%).
