The rise in the number of cases worries Rome

Concern about the course of the pandemic in Italy where few are wearing protective gear in transport.

Italian Health Minister Roberto Speranza was clear: in an interview with La Repubblica today, he said: “Compulsory isolation for citizens infected with the coronavirus will not be abolished.” A possibility, which, however, was mentioned in the previous days by the Italian Deputy Minister of Health Andrea Costa. The number of cases across the country yesterday was 56,386, with a daily increase in hospital admissions of 137 patients. “On a weekly basis, the cases reached 504 per 100 thousand inhabitants, while seven days ago it was 310. This is a significant increase, which will continue, as happened in Portugal,” said Silvio Bruzafero, president of the Italian Higher Institute. Health.

According to the newspaper La Stampa, the Draghi government is being careful due to the new increase in incidents. On June 30, the measures concerning the use of the mask in workplaces expire. “Everything indicates that a new decision will be signed, according to which, in the offices it will be mandatory to use a mask of increased protection, in all cases where the distance between one employee and the other is less than two meters”, writes la Stampa .

Pending the new vaccine

The point, however, is that even in Italy the rules are often not respected. For example, in urban transport many do not wear a mask at all and almost all others have surgery. While government measures state that the FFP2 mask of enhanced protection remains mandatory. In commercial enterprises, where there is no relevant obligation, almost 100% of customers are not protected.

Many experts mistakenly believe that the fourth dose of the vaccine was given only to vulnerable groups and the elderly over the age of 80. Authorities are now trying to control as much as possible the pending situation, most likely in October, of the new vaccine, which will also protect against the Omicron 4 and Omicron 5 variants.
