The Rolling Stones release album “Hackney Diamonds” with reference to Brazil

The Rolling Stones are back with the album “Hackney Diamonds”, which features a special list of guest appearances, including Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney and Elton John. The new project was launched on streaming services this Friday (20).

After 18 years without releasing a new album, the newest musical work features influences from the R&B genre, in addition to the notable participation of producer Andrew Watt, who has worked with names such as Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa, among others.

The British release includes 12 tracks. Before the official release, Mick Jagger had already granted some “spoilers”, commenting that two compositions were recorded with drummer Charlie Watts, who passed away in 2021, and the rest with Steve Jordan, who replaced him.

“Angry” refers to Brazil

To Brazilian fans, the British group gave a memorable gift. “Angry”, the first single from the album, references Brazil. Very near the end of the song, Mick Jagger sings: “I’m still taking the pills and I’m off to Brazil“, in free translation: “AndI’m still taking pills and I’m going to Brazil“.

On the social network X, formerly Twitter, some internet users believe that this could possibly be a hint that the band will pass through Brazilian lands. However, to date, nothing has been officially announced.

“Sweet Sounds of Heaven”

Lady Gaga shined on stage when she performed with the Rolling Stones in a star-studded show during the launch of “Hackney Diamonds”, on Thursday night (19) in New York.

Gaga even imitated Mick Jagger’s signature dance moves as they sang “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” together for the first time.

With a career that began in 1962, the band currently consists of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood and has one of the most legendary CVs in the world of rock ‘n’ roll, being responsible for an impressive list of hits , including classics like “Satisfaction” and “Sympathy for the Devil”.
