A Huawei spokesman has confirmed that the company will be attending Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2021, which will take place from 23rd to 25th February this year. At this event, the company will showcase a wide range of new products, including new 5G base stations.
Gan Bin, vice president of Huawei’s wireless product line, said the global rollout of 5G networks has entered a fast phase. He also noted that this year the number of 5G users will exceed 500 million – and this is only in China.
Huawei expects 5G networks to start experiencing medium to heavy loads soon. The growth rate of 5G users in China will reach 30% in 2021, 42.9% in 2022, 56.8% in 2023, 70.4% in 2024 and 81.7% in 2025.
As a reminder, Huawei’s network equipment is banned in the US and some European countries that support US policy.
