The Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Washington DC will begin accepting donations in cryptocurrencies. The Engiven crypto platform will help her with this.
Representatives of the platform said they would help organize donations to the church to raise funds and expand digital governance initiatives. The archdiocese plans to use the funds to support 139 parishes in the District of Columbia, as well as for local programs, including providing food to those in need.
According to Joseph Gillmer, executive director of diocese development, the church is committed to using modern technology to engage parishioners in new and exciting ways, making it easier for believers to fulfill the mission of the church. Users will be able to donate anonymously in many digital currencies, including Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH):
“Engiven is helping us fulfill our mission by providing a cutting-edge yet easy-to-use cryptocurrency donation platform enabling believers to support over 300 congregations, schools and ministries in the US capital.”
Engiven has helped organize donations in cryptocurrencies to more than 400 religious organizations. Company founder James Lawrence insists that no religious organization, church or non-profit organization can afford to neglect online audiences, donors and others who are looking for ways to invest their money for the good of the church.
Previously, Engiven hosted donations for the American Figure Skating Association (USFSA), which it promises to use to create new programs for athletes across the country.
