If Prince Harry got a tattoo, what tattoo would it be? Perhaps, very classically, the name of the two children, Archie and Lilibet? Or maybe his wife’s? Or perhaps one in an old school style, as if to underline the Royal House’s eternal reputation as a bad boy? These are just some of the hypotheses that are raised here and there, after it exploded the gossip about a possible new tattoo done by Prince Harry on the occasion of his last trip to New York.
Fueling the rumors about a possible tattoo of the enfant terrible of the British Royal Family is a video that appeared on the social networks of the American anchorman Darius Radzius, in which Prince Harry is seen, escorted by his numerous bodyguards, exiting from a door headed towards his standard black off-road vehicle.
Well, in that building from which Charles and Diana’s second son was leaving, according to what the American media report, there is one of the most famous tattoo studios in all of New York, East Side Ink. Many Hollywood superstars have gotten tattoos here, such as Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans and Jeremy Renne, increasing the fame of the tattoo artist Joshua Lord, who has become one of the favorite “pens” of VIPs. Perhaps Prince Harry’s presence in that place was just a coincidence, or perhaps it was a fact-finding meeting: some witnesses, however, claim that Harry remained in the lounge for at least an hourwhich would be compatible with the creation of a medium-sized tattoo.
And if it is true that tattoos are usually done in key periods of a person’s life, it wouldn’t be so strange to think of one on the body of William’s younger brother. Just a few days ago, the Duke of Sussex turned forty, a moment that for many coincides with an initial assessment of their lives. And, lately, Prince Harry’s life has been quite turbulent, with all the upheavals that came after his marriage to Meghan Marklewhich has always been at the center of gossip due to an alleged crisis (never confirmed and probably never really arrived). In particular, these last years of Harry’s life were marked byestrangement from his father, his brother and his entire familyagainst which the little prince did not hold back, exposing royal secrets with his controversial biography and infuriating that brother to whom he had been very close in the past, as he had been with Kate Middleton, who now – well-informed say – is cause for nostalgia for Prince Harry.
So, if the prince ever wants to get a tattoo, he could hardly find a more suitable moment in his life to do so. On the other hand, now that Harry has officially and deliberately distanced himself from the British Royal Family, his personal freedoms are certainly broader, and in any case no protocol would prohibit him from getting tattoos. In fact, the Royals have several prohibitions (some of which are really difficult to understand, in fact) but no explicit mention is made about the possibility of showing off a tattoo. Of course it is chand strict royal etiquette would frown upon a permanent tattoo: even the henna ones, sported by Kate Middleton during her trip to Morocco quite some time ago, had raised eyebrows at court. But the fact remains that nothing prevents the royals from getting tattoos freely, if they want to do so. Despite this, at least until now, no one has ever dared so much, at least not with showy tattoos or on visible parts of the body: it wouldn’t surprise us at all, in any case, if the first to do so was Prince Harry himself.
