Russian military forces today conducted exercises in the breakaway Moldovan region of Transnistria on the border with Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced.
The exercise program, which included covert troop movements and grenade launchers, was announced amid international diplomatic tensions over the region and fears in the West that Russia was planning an invasion of Ukraine.
