Today, November 26, representatives of Kia Russia & CIS officially announced that now the Cerato sedan from Kia, popular in Russia, is being produced at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad in a full cycle. This means that welding, painting and assembly of a vehicle is carried out at a single Russian plant – in order for this to be possible, Avtotor’s management has modernized its current equipment, and has also set up a conveyor belt for a full cycle of vehicle assembly. The company also notes that thanks to the modernization of the equipment, the quality of the paintwork and corrosion protection has increased significantly. This is a significant event for Avtotor – at this plant Carato has been assembled since 2012, and the total circulation has already exceeded 100 thousand units.
It is worth noting that the restyled Kia Cerato model arrived on the Russian market only at the beginning of autumn 2021 – and in a sense, this model is unique for the Russian market. The fact is that it is the restyled Cerato that is the first car from the Korean manufacturer that boasts the proprietary telematics complex Kia Connect (it is also installed at the Kaliningrad plant). This technology allows you to remotely control individual vehicle systems, plus the owner can monitor the condition of his car and its security systems.
Accordingly, twelve combinations of trim levels and engines (two engine options and two gearboxes in six available trim levels) will come off the assembly line of the Russian plant. For the basic model, they will ask for 1,434,900 rubles, while the top-end configuration starts at 1,869,900 rubles. Naturally, prices are indicated without additional services, while getting a car at such a cost will be problematic.
