Earlier in the day, Ukrainian forces said they were fighting Russian armored units in two cities, Dimer and Ivankiv, 45 and 80 kilometers north of Kiev, respectively.
“Ukraine’s air force units are fighting around the cities of Dimer and Ivankiv, where a large number of enemy armor has arrived,” the Ukrainian army said on its Facebook page.
According to this post, the advance “of the superior forces of the army stopped in the river Teterov. “The bridge over the river was destroyed.”
The Ukrainian army’s general staff also noted that Ukrainian forces were controlling the Antonov military airport in Gostomel, near the gates of Kiev, which had been attacked yesterday by Russian forces, which were repulsed.
“A regular unit of the security forces is controlling the Gostomel airport where Russian airborne units had infiltrated yesterday,” he noted on Facebook.
