The heads of The Sandbox and Dacoco talked about the creation of the Open Metaverse Alliance organization, to which all major Web3 companies are invited.
Sebastien Borget, co-founder of The Sandbox metaverse platform, and Sarojini McKenna, CEO of Dacoco, say 50 members have signed up since the non-profit organization Open Metaverse Alliance (OMA3) was launched. Among them are such companies as Dapper Labs, Animoca Brands, Decentraland, Voxels.
Makkena is the Chair of the OMA3 Ecosystem Working Group. The group is going to create some common standards that guarantee users the ability to more easily control their assets, accounts and activities in the metaverse. OMA3 plans to develop technical standards, documentation, source code, security and communications.
The founders of the organization assure that OMA3 is open to consider applications for membership for any company associated with Web3. Later, the list of possible participants will be expanded to individuals and DAOs.
According to Borje, the success of an organization will be measured by how its activities are accepted by users – everything, according to the businessman, comes down to user experience. It is important that users feel part of the ecosystem and contribute to development.
Earlier, The Sandbox and Decentraland said that DappRadar data, according to which the platforms have a low number of active users, only takes into account users who use game tokens, which is not objective for measuring activity.
