The Sansoni: “Young people no longer look for a permanent place, but a place in society, in the world”

They are the web stars and thanks to their comic gags they managed to reach over 419 thousand followers on Instagram and more than one million likes on Facebook. Then the virtual followers became real spectators at the theater and on TV thanks to programs of the caliber of Strip the news and of the Primafestival of Sanremo. Now the Sansoni, aka Fabrizio and Federico Sansone, Palermitani Doc, are ready to land in the cinema, from 27 March, with And then you can see. I start immediately by asking you how the idea for this film was born.
FE – «The film is also autobiographical, underlines how difficult it is to be young today. The film is dedicated to them. What did you understand about your peers?
“Young people no longer look for a permanent place, but a place in society, in the world”.

First you said that many guys had to leave their city to work. Why didn’t you go away from Palermo?
FA – “In order not to change the attending physician”.
FE – «Our land is a source of inspiration. Our work, however, opens and completed itself in Rome, Milan, Naples, Turin. It gives us the opportunity to live all over Italy. It also depends on the profession: some of our friends had to accept work for which they had not studied ».

And you?
Fa – “Let’s say I haven’t studied.” (laughs, editor’s note)
FE – «What we have studied has served us for recitative techniques. We are the screenwriters of the film, we made a choice of language. Studying is important even if we make ourselves transported from what flows inside us ».

FE – «I 30».

FE – “Unfortunately yes”.

FA – “In Palerrrrrmo”.

FE – «When we managed to transform the likes into people who came to see us at the theater, and then the TV and cinema arrived and our parents also aligned themselves. We understand, however, their point of view: they are of a generation born with the aim of the permanent place ».

Among the themes of the film the one on recommendations. Did you ever come into contact with this practice?
FA – “Well we actually self -cacked ourselves, because the web is meritocratic”.
FE – “Do not talk about meritocracy, Fabrizio, in Italy, does not sound good”.

FE – “Too heavy”.
FA – «In reality in the film it is an expedient. The permanent place is mitized, it is a mirage, so much so that one of the two protagonists steals the recommendation ».

FE – «In reality yes, because I am the small son. And I’m the favorite of mom and dad ».

According to your experience, how do the deans of the showbiz see who comes from the web? Many times they are seen as a straw fire …
FE – “Fortunately we have not lived prejudices”.
FA – «We come from the theater and we used the web as a showcase. Being Sicilian, then, we know the preconceptions well ».
FE – «It happened to us, a bundle was made of all grass and we should not judge the paths in a subjective but objective way. There are different careers and objectives also on TV. We are honored to have worked with Antonio Ricci a Strip the news and with Carlo Conti al Primafestival. We focused on learning how to be ourselves in those forms of entertainment ».
FE – «The web is a new means. When the TV arrived, it was not a good look seen by those who made theater. It is the evolution that goes on ».

What does your path want to express? Is there a message?
FE – “Never work with the brothers”.
FA – «We still don’t know. The more we will grow and the more we understand, but we want to be reflected in our age, to tell the society around us. This is our key and it makes us remain ourselves ».

First you said that, as Sicilians, you are used to prejudices. How come?
FA – «We have heavily lived the being of the South, they judge you before knowing who you are. Prejudices are always wrong also by character, religion and sex ».

Those who did not have any kind of prejudice were Antonio Ricci and Carlo Conti. What did they teach you?
Fa – «a Strip We have learned comic writing times. We made movie trailer that will never exist, looking for social references as the program has always done ».
FE – «With Conti we have seen how an extraordinary machine such as that of Sanremo and Rai moves. To make it work, we understood how the meanders and micro mechanisms of the TV are proceeding ».

When was there the first contact with Antonio Ricci?
FE – «In 2021 he asked us to think about something that could go to Strip. A crazy emotion be contacted by a legend like him. “

And what do you tell me about?
Fa – «Sanremo as Strip They are experiences that we dreamed of, but we would never have thought of realizing ».

Fa – “Knowing that my brother would work with me.”
