The Attorney General of the Republic, Augusto Aras, said this Tuesday (6th) that the celebration of 200 years of Independence on the holiday of September 7 will be a “great civic celebration for all Brazilians in a climate of peace and harmony. ”.
During a session of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), when a technical cooperation agreement was signed with the National Council of the Public Ministry (CNMP), Aras said that in 2021 the holiday was “peaceful” and that this year, it will be so again. .
“We greatly expanded the integration of the National Council of the Public Ministry with the CNJ. This was even done in 2021, when we ensured a peaceful September 7, as we will also live tomorrow with a great civic celebration for all Brazilians in a climate of peace and harmony. This is a joint effort,” Aras said.
Despite the statement by the Attorney General of the Republic, there was concern on the holiday of September 7 of last year, when truck drivers began to occupy the Esplanada dos Ministérios since dawn, causing fear in the Federal Supreme Court that these vehicles could be used and some possible aggression against the headquarters of the STF.
This year, the DF Public Security Secretariat expanded measures to ensure more security during acts in Brasília.
The Esplanade has been closed to cars since Monday night (6). In addition, there will be snipers and anti-bomb teams on site, the secretary said in a statement, in addition to monitoring the highways to accompany caravans arriving in the Federal District.
On the day of the parade, there will be search points at the access to the place and the entry of people with weapons, poles and flammable items will be prohibited.
This Wednesday (7), during the holiday of September 7, the Attorney General of the Republic Augusto Aras, and his team will be on duty at the PGR. The deputy electoral attorney general, Paulo Gustavo Gonet Branco, will be at the Superior Electoral Court, also on duty.
