The share of Chinese cars in the Russian market has reached a historical maximum

The popularity of Chinese cars in Russia is growing. Their share this autumn renewed the historical maximum and now the “Chinese” in sales are second only to Russian brands, analysts of the agency “AUTOSTAT” report, referring to the data of JSC “PPK” (“Passport industrial consulting”).

According to analysts, in the period from September 26 to October 2, Russians purchased 2,562 new cars of Chinese brands, which accounted for 29.4% of total sales. Only domestic cars have a larger share – for the same period it amounted to 39.8%. In third place in terms of popularity are Korean brands, which, with a share of 12.8%, noticeably lag behind competitors from Russia and China.

If we talk about each brand separately, then LADA remains the most popular. Sales of cars manufactured by AvtoVAZ amounted to 3298 units. In second place with sales of 1091 units is the Chinese brand Chery, and Haval closes the top three, whose cars were found by 658 owners last week.

The most popular car on the Russian market remains the LADA Granta family, with weekly sales of 2,171 units. Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 4 sold 488 and 476 units during the reporting period, which allowed them to take second and third places, respectively. Fourth in sales was Haval Jolion, which was chosen by 441 buyers last week. The TOP-5 of the best-selling new cars in Russia is closed by LADA Niva Travel with sales of 372 units.
