The sick sexual fantasy, the murder with 70 knives and the university professor in the chair

The trial of an ex begins today university professor Northwestern, who is accused of slaughtering his lover during a sick sexual fantasy.

The selection of jurors and the starting positions of the lawyers are expected on Monday in the trial of 47-year-old Wyndham Lathem, a famous microbiologist, who is accused of stabbing Trenton James Cornell-Duranleau in July 2017, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

The former professor, known for his work on inguinal plague, is accused of plotting with former Oxford University employee Andrew Warren to kill Cornell-Duranleau. The Last was found almost beheaded and stabbed 70 times in the microbiologist’s apartment on July 27, 2017.

Warren recorded the shocking murder of Cornell-Duranleau, a Michigan hairdresser, three days after landing in Chicago, where Lathem allegedly planned to stab him while he slept, according to the NY Post.

Court documents show Warren confessed to covering the hairdresser’s mouth and holding him down as Lathem stabbed him.

Warren also confessed to hitting Cornell-Duranleau on the head with a light bulb and stabbing him in the chest.

After the murder, the two fled to Chicago in a rented car before Lathem left Warren at a San Francisco police station. He was later handed over to police in Auckland in the middle of a manhunt across the US that lasted 8 days.

Prior to the release, authorities said Warren and Lathem stopped at a library and donated $ 1,000 to their victim, and donated more than $ 55,000 to a men’s mental health center in Chicago.
