The situation in Brazil remains difficult with over 79,000 cases in 24 hours

Improved, but with significant problems, is the situation in Brazil, regarding the course of the pandemic.

The Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that in the previous 24 hours 79,069 cases of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed, while during the same period 2,438 patients with COVID-19 died.

In all, Latin America’s largest country mourns 292,752 deaths so far; this is the second worst pandemic in the world, behind only the United States. The total number of people infected with the virus is close to 12 million, according to official data.

Turkey is approaching 30,000 deaths

Her Ministry of Health Turkey announced yesterday Saturday that in the previous 24 hours 21,061 cases of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed, while another 95 patients with COVID-19 succumbed.

The pandemic of the new coronavirus after it broke out in Turkey on March 11, 2020 until yesterday reached 29,959 deaths out of a total of 2,992,694 infections, according to official data.

According to the Turkish Ministry of Health, 1,538 patients with COVID-19 in serious condition are being treated in hospitals across the country.

The mass immunization campaign began in Turkey on January 14th, following the urgent use of the Chinese CoronaVac vaccine. As of yesterday, more than 8,017,000 people had been vaccinated against the new coronavirus.

An additional 5,729 cases in Mexico

The Mexican Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that another 608 patients with COVID-19 had died in the past 24 hours, a development that increased the pandemic of the new coronavirus to 197,827 dead.

At the same time, 5,729 confirmed infections from SARS-CoV-2 were detected, with the recorded cases reaching 2,193,639.

The third heaviest report of the new coronavirus pandemic in the world in absolute terms is considered rather underestimated. Mexican government officials acknowledge that the number of cases and deaths is actually much higher than officially recorded, as relatively few tests are performed and not all patients go to hospital.
