The situation is very sad, there is a smell of death in the air, says a Brazilian woman who lives in Israel

Brazilian Sybele Lotersztein has lived in the Israeli city of Hod Hasharon for 27 years and reported that this Thursday (12) began with the activation of sirens in the midst of the Israeli War.

“We ran to bunkers, and that’s how everyday life goes, between one alarm and another, one attack and another, the tension is very high,” he told CNN Radio.

According to her, “the situation is very sad, with the smell of death in the air.”

Even so, Sybele believes that there is “a very strong feeling of solidarity”: “Those who did not go to the front are helping the injured and those who lost their homes when evacuating the region.”

The Brazilian says that the city where she lives is preserved thanks to the anti-missile system.

“We have a strong system to prevent damage and deaths, and people are at home, ready to run to air raid shelters, there is little movement on the streets,” he added.

She argued that in Israel there is a “very beautiful coexistence between Arabs and Jews” and lamented the actions of Hamas.

“There is no time to cry, it is a matter of survival, we are mobilized, we cannot think too much, the situation does not allow it, but the Jewish people are strong, it did not end in the Holocaust, it will not happen this time”, he stated.
