The smart table from Lumina has a built-in OLED screen. Looks like science fiction

It would seem that you can come up with something innovative for a computer desk, well, except for how to make its height customizable. However, startup Lumina, which is known for developing the AI webcam of the same name, seems to have succeeded. The company announced a computer desk with a programmable height, a built-in 24-inch OLED screen and its own operating system. The display may seem out of place here, but Lumina believes that it really affects the user’s productivity for the better.

Lumina Desk is equipped with an electric drive and a display, which is located exactly between the monitor (laptop), keyboard and mouse. The table itself has a length of 1.5 m, and its height varies from 76 to 120 cm. The main idea is to use the place to good use. For example, the screen can display current tasks, calendar entries, stock prices, a social network feed, and much more. In other words, everything you need to keep at hand at all times. Most importantly, this solution eliminates the need to use multiple monitors for these purposes.

To avoid accidental clicks, Lumina decided not to make the screen touch. Instead of touches and gestures, all manipulations are carried out from the application. You can also not be afraid for stains and scratches – the table is covered with a layer of tempered anti-reflective glass with an oleophobic coating. The maximum screen brightness is 1200 nits and the refresh rate is 60Hz. Wireless charging works across the entire surface of the table, there are also 6 regular sockets and 6 USB-C ports located on the back of the hidden panel. By the way, USB-C can deliver a total of 120 watts (up to 30 watts each).

Lumina Desk is powered by Lumina OS operating system. Users can download and install various applications such as Google Calendar, Slack, Spotify and many more. In addition, it is possible to set the time for raising and lowering the table.

Lumina Desk will only be available for purchase next year. Now the company has opened a call for applications for pre-orders in order to assess consumer interest in such a product. The price has not yet been decided either, but they say that a computer desk with a screen will cost about $1,000.
