Source codes of Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and other games of the Polish developer CD Projekt RED, according to sources, are again offered to everyone.
Back in February of this year, CD Projekt RED reported that it was subjected to a cyberattack, as a result of which attackers gained access to the source code of the RedEngine engine, and such source codes of games as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the new version of The Witcher 3 with ray tracing, Thronebreaker : The Witcher Tales and Cyberpunk 2077.
After the cyberattack, this data was put up for sale on the darknet at an initial price of one million dollars with the possibility of buying out the entire lot without bargaining seven million dollars. The hackers closed the auction ahead of schedule – after they received a better offer. According to databreaches.net, this data is now on the Web in a password-protected form.
It is reported that the password is transferred to users in exchange for $ 10,000. To prove their point, the hackers have released developer kits (SDKs) for the console versions of the aforementioned games without passwords.
