Japanese automaker Toyota has announced the start of sales of its bestselling updated Toyota Camry.

The production of the updated model began at the end of March at a plant in St. Petersburg, where more than 500,000 Toyota Camry and RAV4 vehicles rolled off the assembly line over 13 years.

Camry received an updated line of engines – in the basic version, the torque of 906 Nm was increased by 2 liters, acceleration dynamics were improved by 1.5 seconds, fuel consumption was reduced by 1.1 liters in the combined cycle, and more expensive engine options were also improved.

The manufacturer notes that it is equipped with a Direct Shift CVT transmission for the first time in history. The appearance has changed slightly. The design of the front bumper, lower grille and wheel rims has changed.

Technological innovations include a multimedia system with a 7-inch or 9-inch screen and pre-installed Apple CarPlay and Android Auto platforms.

Toyota specifically notes the Toyota Safety Sense package of active safety systems for collision avoidance and the like, as well as Connected Services telematics functions that allow you to track the car via a smartphone, and so on. In the new version, Safety Sense received a cornering and emergency assistance system, dynamic radar cruise control with road sign recognition and automatic speed reduction when cornering.

The car has a special version of the Camry GR Sport with a two-tone paint job, red accents in the interior design, 2.5 and 3.5 liter engines and other features typical of the “sports” variations of the Toyota GR Sport.
Sales of the new Toyota Camry in Russia began today, April 5, 2021, at a price of 1,846,000 rubles.
